am new here - found this site's link on Daughters of Vietnam Veterans. my dad was a Nam vet and had ptsd until he died 3 years ago. He had horrific flashbacks and stuff. I seem to have inherited his ptsd as I find myself being hyper vigilant, flashbacks, etc. it started happening when I was a kid and experiencing life as dad knew it. my poor mom has to cope with me and my problems after having to deal with dad's for so long. my youngest daughter is 7 and she has trouble at school learning and stuff. my eldest daughter is 17 and won't go out of the house much. I have been on anti-depressants since dad died though had depression problems before that. our family is messed up and no one understands what it's like. I have been told to snap out of it and just act normal but that's not much help being told that by people.

Doreen. You are not alone.I am diligently putting all my efforts into bringing the plight of all children and grandchildren of Veitnam Veterans to the attention of politicians and the media.
